i did this in layers. i used a canvas ground, then a layer to place a digital image of a painting and a third layer for type.
i placed the text from a word file into the type layer and worked on this layer with brush and guoache over and around the type.
then i worked alternately on the type layer and on the image layer doing a similar thing with different colours to make the type less or more visible and less typographic.
i will bring this with me next week to show you live if you like.
hi zon...childhood is definitely part of the theme. i hadn't considered the loss of childhood, rather what was lost in childhood. but now that you have me thinking... loss of childhood is a sacrifice of sorts too.

This gave me a sense of "wrapped pain". Is loss of childhood part of the theme?
